Who We Are

Updated: Aug 26th, 2021

Welcome to the Backcountry World — The Backcountry Lifestyle.

If you’re a backcountry adventure type of a person and want to explore all the different activities and sports you can do in the backcountry such as backcountry skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and other outdoor sports, or are interested in learning more about the backcountry lifestyle. You’re in the right place.

BW is the hub for Backcountry beginners. Living the self-sufficient lifestyle is a big decision and getting all of your questions answered makes the process less stressful and confusing. Our goal is to give you practical, useful, and beginner-friendly tips on everything you need to be successful at being more self-reliant and eventually have your own homestead one day.

We cover all of the adventures that are possible in the Backcountry, with topics ranging from backcountry hiking and camping to backcountry snowboarding and hunting.

Backcountry World is a newer website, but I’m confident we will attract an audience of sharpshooters in no time. So if you’re interested in taking your self-defense in your own hands, welcome.

Our Review Process

The internet is filled with information. And most of it provides little to no value. We want to be better than that. How will we do it? Simple, we put in more effort. More work. We take the time to research high-quality sources.

Our Writers

The writers that write for Backcountry World are enthusiasts. Borderline too obsessed for their own health and well-being. This enables us to produce the most helpful information possible. There’s a difference between someone who dabbles in going camping or has been on a snowboarding trip with their family once and someone who spends more time in the backcountry than they do at home. This ensures that Backcountry World’s content to be fact-checked, credible, and the most helpful.

Meet The Writer

I’m Stephanie Thomas, I started Backcountry World in hopes to share what I learn about living the self-sufficient lifestyle. I believe this is one of the best ways of living that I’ve ever encountered. Which is why I practice it every day. I’m always learning new ways to become better at everyday life and I share what I learn here.
